SDPS, Defence Colony, is run by the South Delhi Education Society (regd.), registered under the Societies Act 1860. It was through the Initative and leadership of the founder manager Late Shri G.S. Rawat, a philanthropist under whose aegis educational institutes were started in the year 1966.

The total strength of the School is approximately 2000 students. We take immense pride in knowing each and every individual child`s strenghts and weaknesses and help them create a sense of responsibility and independence along with value based quality education.
